Ohio House Bill 247, known as Avery’s Law, creates new legal obligations for animal shelters, rescues, humane societies, and dog wardens that house dogs.
This seminar will provide a practical overview of Avery’s Law and how it applies to dogs taken in from cruelty cases, as part of protective custody, or as strays, transfers, or surrenders. Attendees will learn how to comply with the law’s requirements while minimizing the risk of civil and criminal liability for their organization, staff, and volunteers. It is designed to help animal care agencies implement compliant policies, procedures, and best practices under the new statutory framework.
