In this 90-minute webinar, Jeff Holland, attorney in the firm of Holland & Muirden and appointed prosecutor for animal cruelty cases in many courts across Ohio, will discuss how to gather the evidence to prove WHO is criminally responsible for an act of animal neglect. He will cover: 

  • The difference between an owner and a caretaker; 
  • Identifying whether or not a caretaker was negligent or reckless over time; 
  • The problem of multiple residents in a home; 
  • What exactly must you do in court to properly identify the defendant; 
  • Use of social media and telephone contacts; 
  • Interviewing techniques; and
  • What identifying information is necessary to file a charge. 
This course is intended only for humane society agents, municipal or township animal control officers, dog wardens, police officers, or sheriffs.
