Length of Stay – A Whole Shelter Approach
Speaker: Lindsay Layendecker, Director of Development,
Jacksonville Humane Society
October 10, 2024
12:00 - 1:00 p.m. on Zoom
Join the Jacksonville Humane Society as we take a look at changes made throughout their shelter that helped lower their length of stay. From adoptions to enrichment and veterinary care to marketing, we’ll explore the data and procedures put in place to help this organization keep their length of stay to 12 days for dogs and 21 days for cats (including stray holds and foster time) throughout the last 3 years.
The Jacksonville Humane Society was the 2018 winner of the Maddie's Get 'Em Home Challenge, a contest focusing on adopting out dogs and cats who had been in the shelter for over 30 days. Grants were awarded for out of the box thinking - creative approaches to getting dogs and cats adopted and engaging volunteers, staff and community. Join us and hear what they did and how they are still succeeding in lowering their length of stay.
