Dos & Don'ts of a Successful

Social Media Strategy

Speaker: Elycia Taylor, Assistant Professor of Communication

at Columbus State Community College

June 12, 2024

12:00 - 1:00 p.m. on Zoom

Social media can absolutely help move your adoptable animals out the door and into their furever homes more quickly. But, there are right ways and wrong ways to go about designing your social media strategy. Join Elycia Taylor, Assistant Professor of Communication at Columbus State Community College, in this practical webinar that covers best practices in visual and text-based storytelling to build and engage a social media audience. We'll discuss:

  • How to find your organization's storytelling 'voice'
  • How to make the most out of those tricky algorithms
  • When to use (and not use) staff and volunteers in the process
  • How to use social media as a key element in your fundraising strategy

Elycia was formerly the Program and Communications Director at Licking County Humane Society, so she can speak directly to how to make a greater impact for your shelter, rescue or other animal welfare organization through social media.
