About our speakers:
Judy Hunter has been the Director of Development at the Cleveland Animal Protective League for 14 years. She began her career in fundraising at an entertainment industry charity in Los Angeles before moving back home to Cleveland to take a position at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital. Fundraising for Judy followed a 10-year career in book publishing. Judy believes marketing and communications are critical for fundraising, so for her it was a perfect blend of skills. She lives with a 14-year-old dog, Brandy, and three cats, Owen, Chase and Frankie, all rescues.
Carmen Rey has been the Communications and Social Media Coordinator at the Cleveland APL for three years. Carmen reports to Judy and oversees the APL’s social media, website, direct mail and communications programs. She has a Master’s Degree in Public Relations and began her career at a private PR firm in Scotland. She shares her life with a 13-year-old chocolate lab named Apollo and a rescue cat, aptly named, according to Carmen, Damien.
