Ohio Animal Cruelty Investigation Workshop

Speaker: Jeff Holland, Attorney

This half-day workshop will provide general information about animal cruelty laws for law enforcement, legal professionals and other persons involved in the investigation and prosecution of animal -related cases.  Jeff Holland, partner in the firm of Holland & Muirden and special prosecutor for hundreds of animal cruelty cases in many courts across Ohio for the past 26 years, will present these topics: a review of the enforcers of animal cruelty laws; Cruelty, Torment & Torture; animal cruelty for non-companion animals; “ Goddard’s Law” and “Nitro’s Law”; Notice of Seizure and probable cause hearings; fighting animals and other cruelty laws; penalties for animal cruelty; dog liability laws; and a case law update.  

This workshop has been approved by the Supreme Court of Ohio Commission on Continuing Legal Education for 3.00 hours of CLE credit.
